profile
Chris has studied photography since high school, but embraced it while producing commercial film in the Twin Cities. He has produced television commercials for Target, Minneapolis Public Schools, Catholic Charities, the Humane Society, as well as short films and music videos. Shooting commercials and music videos gave him access to the finest camera lenses in the world. It was through these lenses-on film, in video screens, in editing rooms, and on television-that Chris learned to see what should be in the picture, what should be in focus, what should not be, and where the eye should be led in a picture. A one-time darkroom junkie, Chris shoots mainly medium format film, now, digitizing images with a film scanner to preserve the look of film. Depending on budget, time constraints, customer needs, and the ever-evolving camera, this is subject to change. He seeks to expand in architectural and editorial photography, but Chris also enjoys food, shelter and the company of his loving family, so avidly seeks wedding, event and portrait clients at all levels. Chris graduated from the University of Illinois in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in anthropology. He has continued his cultural studies vicariously through careers in sales, advertising, commercial production, and presently through an incessantly fed appetite for movies, magazines, books, and images. |
